Eye Makeup Brushes 101
Makeup brushes are essential tools to apply makeup. There are various different kinds of makeup brushes available in the markets that perform different functions. Different brushes offer different services. Unfortunately, you cannot use just any brush to contour your face or apply eyeliner with. You need a specific brush to perform a specific function while applying your makeup.
Eye makeup is the most important part of eye makeup. Eyes are the features that stand out the most on a person’s face and thus, the makeup of the eyes is important and unique, depending on the occasion and the attire.
What are some the must-have eye makeup brushes?
Like mentioned earlier, there is a very wide range of eye makeup brushes available in the market, however, for someone who is amateur to makeup, someone who does not use makeup that frequently or someone who is not a professional makeup artist, it is not important to have all these different kinds of brushes. There is a fair chance that you will not be using most of these, if you fit into the category above. So save your money and invest in quality products that might be less in number. Some must-have eye makeup brushes that one needs to have are:
- Brow Brush
- Eyebrow Brush & Lash Comb
- Eyeliner Brush
- Blending brush
What does each of these brushes do?
As mentioned, the most important part of makeup is the eye makeup. It is tricky and needs precision. We recommend practicing a few looks when you’re at home to get the hang of it!
- Brow Brush:
This is from where the eye makeup brushes start. The brow brush is usually angular and is used to define the brows and fill them out. The brush is small and the bristles are firm to ensure a strong grip.
- Eyebrow Brush & Lash Comb:
The Eyebrow Brush & Lash Comb is used to organize the brows and define their shape. This brush has two sides, one is a brush with bristles and other is a comb. The comb is used to de-clamp your eyelashes and take out any remains of old mascara in them. The brush is used to smooth out the unruly eyebrows and soften up any harshly filled brows.
- Eyeliner Brush:
An eyeliner brush is used to put eyeliner without smudging it. This brush too has short and firm bristles which ensure that the eyeliner does not spread over the eye while applying.
- Blending Brush:
Like the makeup brush used to blend contour and highlight on the face, blending brush is used to blend eye shadows and shimmers on the eyes. The brush is soft and does not have bristles, rather a cushion-like tip for blending the makeup.
Not to forget, you should always purchase a solid and good quality bag in which you can store your makeup brushes. The bag should be soft from within and just the right size. It should be big enough to hold all the brushes and avoids squeezing them. This will protect your brushes and their bristles and they will last longer.
